My name is David Penty. Welcome to my new website. I live in rural Ontario, northwest of Toronto. Raised in North Bay, Ontario, I have always had an interest in rural life, in travel and using my keen eye to observe and capture imagery in my camera. At the age of 12, I began learning how best to use light and layers to construct imagery of my surroundings. I later expanded my skills developing and processing images in a darkroom and shooting for school journals.
Now retired from a Technical IT background that allowed me to roam from California to Massachusetts, from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland, my camera is now pointed wherever I find the opportunity to travel, investigate and observe. I am keen to show my photographs and I hope you enjoy them and drop me a line with comments.
I have been an active member of the Mississauga Camera Club for over 20 years, have presented photos in several galleries and was chosen to adorn a rock band’s cover album.
My style of photography tends to imagery which is soft, perhaps in pastels. I love sunsets, flowing water, silhouettes, wind-blown fabric, poignant moods. I also love to photograph birds, ranging from warblers to larger owls and herons. Recently, I have added drone aerial photography to my interests.
Most of my images on this website are available for licensing. I also provide custom photography upon request.
