Our first full day in BA

After a lengthy trip from Toronto via Santiago, the arrival in Buenos Aires was welcome, despite the very high heat.  Ricardo met us at the airport and we were soon resting in our own apartment.  Our celebratory supper was at a very nice restaurant called The New Brighton.

Today was our first full day and we spent it with Santiago, our bicycle guide who led us throughout the city visiting parks, cathedrals, presidential palaces and the very interesting Boca area – home of the blue and yellow Boca Junior’s soccer team.  The stories and history he told us was extremely interesting.  I can’t say enough about how great it was to spend the day with him.  History dating back to 1600’s to present day.  Argentina is definitely one fascinating country. But, alas, too tired at the end of the day to try the nightlife.  Probably tomorrow we’ll be back at it.  Hope all who read this are sympathetic that we are suffering through 30+ weather.
